Mojo Monday 123 Round or Square? I take both.

I could not decide wich one to make, so I made both.  I had made round cards before and I find them very charming but they are harder to make (mine is a bit crooked).  I liked how Mrs. Tilman and Mrs. Bigelow both made the round and square versions of the sketch, so I followed the lead!  I used SU papers, hearts puch and Stamp from the SAB set Frases Caprichosas.

It is Almost Monday again, I guess I am a little bit late but here it is may interpretation of Mojo Monday's Challege.  The Sketch design was done by the talented Mary Fish.  I am using Lo Mejor de Todo, Simply Scrappin' set by Stampin'Up which is currently in the Clearance Rack.  The ribbon is also in the Clearance Rack and is from the set District Ribbon Originals.  Both are amazing values and will be available while they last.

PPA 26 Anything but a card

Welcome again to my blog.  I am always happy to have you and to read the comments you kindly leave for me.  This week PPA challenge us to create anything but a card.  This leave us with a broad range of possibilities and it is when I really cannot decide what to do.  I have a Baskin Robins dilema, 31 ice cream flavors!!.  Well, I think I will have vainilla this time...MDS to the rescue, again.  A digital scrapbook page is always inspiring to me.  I am really a scrapbooker turned cardmaker. And although digital scrapbooking is completely new to me (I have been doing it only since MDS got out) I found it equally calming and refreshing than traditional scrapbooking.  I take a white canvas, choose my photo and begin right there: adding and taking out until I am satisfied. Today  I am using the beautiful digital papers from the Sweet Pea digital set from Stampin'Up, available as a supplement to MDS or as a download to be used with other applications.  Give MDS a try, you will find is easy and fun, if you don't like the results you can just delete the page with no waste of papers or other craft materials, it's just that forgiving.  Here the final result. Two of my beautiful grand-nieces adorn my page.  I am sure their grandmas would love to see them here.  For those of you who are more used to digital scrapbooking I will love to learn more, share ideas and inspiration.

Holiday Blog Hop "Valentine's Inspiration"

Hello everyone, today is the day for you to have an exquisite banquet of ideas and inspiration for Valentine's Day.  If you come from Regina's blog, you are in the right track! I am sure you enjoyed her beautiful projects. If you came from elsewhere, you can always go around with the links at the end of this post.  Be sure to visit all 17 blogs participating in this hop. For all the hops I have participated up to date,  I like to make three projects to attempt to include a sample of the many things you can do with Stampin' Up products.

I always fall short! The complete list of materials used are at the end of the posting.  My first project today is a little card of Hugs and Kisses.  I made this card using my BigShot (wonderful machine)  and some of the dies available for it.  I used the scallop circle die, and two sizes of circle dies.  I also used the BigShot to cut the letters using the alphabet dies.  The hearts are from the punch Heart To Heart and the paper is Sending Love, from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  My second project is a MDS project.  My Digital Studio, from Stampin'Up is really a versatile tool.  You can make scrapbook pages, cards, calendars, video and a great number of amazing things.  The Digital Scrapbook page shown here portraits my beloved daughter Maralisi playing with her adored kitty, Pixie. Aren't day to gorgeous ladies?

My last project is a 3-D Item that took me a while to figure out but when I did, it was really easy. I used a tag I had as a template. I took Real Red textured card stock and  cut a strip of about 4 times the tag.  I scored it and folded it mountain valley style.  I embellished it using Designer Paper and photos and print-out words.  At first I tried to use real photos, I mean in photo paper.  But with the high humidity here where I live, the photos stuck together when I closed the tags. So, I went and printed all the photos and words using my MDS.  It turned out great.   I made the case last, just using a card stock piece wider for half and inch and longer for 3 and a half times. Here, I used Sending Love Designer Paper and Sending Love Real Red brads as embellishments.

That is all for today.  I hope you liked my projects and can get some inspirations to make yours.  I really love to share them with you.  Your comments make my day, please leave yours.  Now it is time to continue to the next blog: The talented Kris Kylcoyne
Is next!

PPA 24 Happiness Always

For the PPA 24 Simple Sketch challenge, Margaret Moody created this wonderful and clean sketch that inspired the card I am showing today.  I used papers from the hostess Patterns Designer Series Paper Pack 3 and a sentiment from the new SAB set "Palabras Caprichosas" (Whimsical Words") available in Spanish, English and French.

Feliz Dia de Reyes (Happy Three Kings Day)

In Puerto Rico, like in many other countries we celebrate  January 6, as the day the Three Wise men from the Orient visited baby Jesus guided by a bright star in the heaven.  They brought him presents fit for a king  and adored him, acknowledging him as King of Kings.  This date we remember that event and our children receive presents brought by theThree Kings, just like baby Jesus did. In the Eve, the children collect grass and put it in little boxes under their beds.  The purpose is to feed the king's camels that come from so far away.  The Kings then leave toys and presents under the children's beds.  In the morning, the children look under their beds and there will be the presents!!  The adults celebrate with music and traditional food and relatives and friends often visit and share.  It is a beautiful tradition and one very close to our hearts.  Here in the MDS page I made for Jezer Adrian, my grandson, he is collecting some "tasty" grass for the camels.  Tomorrow he will surely find some treats under his bed at grandma's home!  Happy Three Kings Day everywhere!

PPA 23 A Chick to the rescue!!

Happy New Year to all my friends and visitors!  I really hope this year will bring many blessings to our families and our countries.  Last week I made my card for the PPA 23 Challenge and forgot to post the link in Mr. Linky!!!  Today I felt like playing with my papers and stamps again, now that they all are in their place and readily available. (At last!).  The PPA challenge for this week is :Anything but a Card.  Browsing the internet looking for ideas I landed in the Splitcoaststampers blog where I frequently find ideas, tutorials and inspiration.  This week tutorial was a Matchbox Post it Note holder. (Tutorial Here)  I liked it a lot but wanted to make something else with the template. I came up with a mini sewing kit to carry in my purse or have it in my office desk's drawer, readily available for those accidents in which you loose a button or need a needle and thread. I used SU retired designer paper and the very versatile stamp set "Notas Rapidas y Divertidas"  also available in English.  I liked  a lot how it turned out.  I think I will be making some more for the pals in my office.  Don't forget to check out the other inspiration projects on the Pals Paper Arts web site! Thanks for visiting and for your comments, they mean a lot, really, A LOT to me.
