MojoTeresa

Is this fun or What? Another Mojo Monday sketch for Wednesday. This is my interpretation of MojoTeresa.

MojoMaria

Hello friends! I am a little behind in Mojo Monday Challenge. You know, this week there will be new sketches for each night and last night I suffered a case of Mojo deficiency. Luckily I recuperated soon enough to continue with yesterday and today's challenges.

Today I am so happy because I receive an email from my new friend Madeline from Alabama. She is a Stampin'Up Independent Demonstrator who is actually from Corozal, Puerto Rico!! She saw my blog and realized I am from Puerto Rico too, and I live in a town very close from she grew up. She now lives in Alabama with her hubby who is in the Army. Thanks Madeline for your kind words. I hope we can get to know each other more.

Blackboard Greetings

For this week PPA3 Inspiration challenge we had a photo with kids theme. The colors and the scene reminded me my Kindergarden classroom when I loved to go every morning every weekday. The kids share everything, coloring books, crayons, pencils and the teacher's attention. Some were well behaved like me... and some really mischievous! Yes, I still remember, I have a good memory...The photo inspired this card presenting a group of kids wishing their teacher to get well soon . The wish was written in the blackboard with chalk, get it? I hope so. My husband told me to clean the whitish marks in the black cardstock. They are smudges from the chalk in the blackboard!!! He did not get it. The stamps are from a retired set Lively Little Ones. I used Black, Real Red and YoYo yellow cardstock. The card base was made in Bashful Blue and Night of Navy cardstock. The sentiment which means "get well soon" was stamped in White craft ink.

PPA Sketch Challenge

I love playing in PPA!!! This week the challege was inspired in this sketch. This was my interpretation. My is a Baby's theme card using the stamp set "Notas Rapidas y Divertidas" from Stampin' up! I used So Saffron cardstock stamped with a retired background stamp, Bashful Blue also stamped with a background retired set, and pattern paper. I love background stamps. is like havin an unlimited stock of pattern paper. It also adds texture and depth to plain cardstock.

Another card with my new kit

For the PPA color challenge I posted a card with the closest colors to the ones the challeged called for because I did not had my new colors yet. But today my kit brought all the colors I needed so, I made another card to play fair, with the colors in the challenge. I also used my set : "Por todo lo que haces" that come in English or Spanish. I can see that this set will become one of my favorites. It comes with 10 stamps, all pretty and versatile.

I got my kit!!

Today I received my New Demonstrator Kit from Stampin'Up! I was very excited with the new stamps and new colors. I took advantage of the optional Stampin' Memories kit and chose the " Guestbook" Simply Scrappin Set. Wow! The papers are gorgeous and so appropriate for formal ocassions. I took the paper out inmediately and began making a Wedding Invitation Sample with the RSVP 3x3 card enclosure. I used peach gross grain ribbon from the last Mini Catalog and Stampin' up vellum paper. The vellum paper I had was very thin and I had to put two sheets. The heavier vellum paper used for printing would work better. But in general I was satisfied with the result. And wait until you see my planned scrapbook pages!!! My eldest son married recently and I will use one of his photos. He is so handsome and his wife is beautiful!

Remember that you can find all these materials in the new 2009-2010 Stampin'Up Catalog pressing the link "shop 24/7" in the side bar. Keep posted!!

Jewelry Making

You already know that I make cards, scrapbooks and paper crafts. But did you know I also like to make jewelry? I do this for pleasure, not business but I make and make and sometimes I have so many I have to sell and sell. LOL. It is very relaxing and a good way to make your year round gifts. I mostly use gemstones and sterling silver and I also use glass and wood. Well, here some photos I still have of sets I made and already sold. I am thinking in a way to combine both hobbies. In the Stampin' up Holiday Catalog there will be jewelry too! Let's see what may come.

Using my scraps

After making my last card I ended up as usual with some scraps. Since I spent some time stamping and embossing the cardstocks for the other card, I thought that I could do another card and build a set. I ended up with this second card that have a total different feel. This was made with "Ecos de bondad" a retired hostess stamp set that came in English or Spanish. I also used brads form the Hodgepodge Set and ribbon. I think I will make some more to finish a 4 o 6 cards set.

Waiting for my kit

I am waiting for my New Demonstrator Kit. While it arrives, I am looking for current Stampin'up supplies. I have mostly retired stamps and supplies but I want a fresh look in my new cards. I made this card using as inspiration the September issue of Cards magazine, the card in the cover by Kandis Smith. I used Real Red, Whisper White, So Saffron and Kraft card stock. I used So Saffron and Night of Navy ink pads. The stamp set is "Todo Ovalados" that come both in English and Spanish and coordinate with the Stampin' up oval punch. The circle, the heart and tag were cut with the BigShot machine( My favorite tool!!). The Real Red card stock was embossed with the swiss dot texture plate using the BigShot. You can find all this materials in the new Stampin'up 2009-2010 catalog.
